About Me.

My name is Belinda Simpson and I’m an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), with an extensive history working in the field of midwifery and nursing. I’m qualified as a Registered Midwife and Nurse, working in a hospital environment for the last ten years. I continue to stay up to date with the latest developments in breastfeeding and lactation practices and love to incorporate this into my work, ensuring I’m always using current evidence-based practices to deliver high quality care. I’m a professional member of Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) and International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA). I hold a Bachelor of Nursing & Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, and am currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Ethos.

As a mother of two young children who experienced the challenges of breast-feeding myself, I understand how an IBCLC can guide mothers through the challenges commonly experienced. Combining my personal and professional experiences, I have developed a true passion for sharing this knowledge with other mothers and working with them to ensure their experience is as positive and as comfortable as possible, for both mother and baby.

My interest lies in providing women and their families with the tools to make informed and educated decisions allowing them to feel empowered. I understand each woman has a unique experience with conception, birth and post-natal challenges. My specialty is working with women to understand their circumstances and creating a personalised plan for their journey as a new mother. Having worked in a variety of environments I understand the importance of care that is culturally sensitive, treating clients and their decisions with acceptance, understanding and respect.
